crazyjim Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 (edited) Me and Marcia trekked to the Florida National Cemetery Bushnell today to participate in Wreaths Across America. Thousands and thousands of people. We laid 4 wreaths in one section and they ran out so we walked to another section and laid more wreaths until that trailer was empty. then we walked to another section and laid a ton of wreaths. Never had that happen before. Of course, we don't just lay a wreath at a gravesite. We lay the wreath down gently, step back, say the person's name out loud, say thank you and Merry Christmas. Being a Veteran, I render a hand salute. It was a GREAT day! Edited December 16, 2017 by crazyjim capital letter
KWT Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 That sounds like a dang fine day to me... I applaud you... And also say thank you for your service
crazyjim Posted December 16, 2017 Author Posted December 16, 2017 (edited) Don't applaud me, Jeremy. I'm just an old Veteran remembering our fallen. I really appreciate your thank you. There's some pics on my FB page. Edited December 16, 2017 by crazyjim addition
JollySipper Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 Hey, Jim.... I've never heard of this. Is there a way to donate wreaths? I would like to participate now that I know about it.......
cobraman Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 We heard about a shortage on Fox News a couple weeks ago so helped out a bit. It must feel good to be a part of the laying of the wreaths. Your a good man and thanks for doing that.
crazyjim Posted December 17, 2017 Author Posted December 17, 2017 There's a donation button on their website to make donations http://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/#join-us Never heard about a shortage, but then I never watch/listen to Fox News or CNN. I can't describe the feeling inside remembering fallen Veterans, Ray. It just feels good. This is the cemetery where our ashes will be buried - already approved by the VA.
PARTSMARTY Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 You're an awesome dude who deserves all the praise we can give you and then some-Thanks for the service.
crazyjim Posted December 18, 2017 Author Posted December 18, 2017 Thanks Marty. I'm certainly not looking for praise. Just trying to remember my fallen brothers and sisters.

crazyjim Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 Thank you Carl. It was a wonderful day.
Jim N Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 I am not sure what to write when thank you seems wholly inadequate, but Thank You.
crazyjim Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 It was my pleasure to honor our fallen.
