While I would love to take credit for building it, this one came from Automodello. It was a distressed model damaged in shipping. I put it back together and still plan to do some weathering so it looks like it has been driven on the Salt Flats. In the background I also have a model of the Duesenberg SJ Murphy Convertible Coupe that was the car Fred Duesenberg was driving when he had an accident that led to his untimely demise. And there is a 1907 Thomas Flyer back there as well. Thanks for the encouragement guys! Eric, thanks for sharing your fun projects with us. I'm really interested in the Thomas Flyer. I've got one I'm mocking up, using Franklin Mint Rolls Royce body parts. Would like to get a closer look at your's, when you have time. Thanks!

The idea of using a Franklin Mint Rolls (or the Franklin Mint Packard would work too) is a very good one. I'll look forward to seeing yours.
Eric Macleod Posted November 12, 2018 Author Posted November 12, 2018 (edited) Here is the car with a new front axle under it. The stance of the front wheels looks better. I also made a decision about how I will route the exhaust manifold. This is not going to be a perfect model, but I am happy with it so far. Edited November 12, 2018 by Eric Macleod I forgot the photo.
Eric Macleod Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 It probably doesn't look like much but I now have the hood sides fitted and the body is glued to the chassis. I managed to get some glue on the hood so I will be repainting that. Oh well.
Eric Macleod Posted November 21, 2018 Author Posted November 21, 2018 (edited) I am closing in on this one. I smudged the hood with some glue so that's being repainted. I also worked on the exhaust manifold routing and feel I am pretty close. Next I can add lights and the carburation system. My only regret is I should have painted the spokes to match the interior colors. Right now I think the car looks a touch drab. Edited November 21, 2018 by Eric Macleod Clarification
Eric Macleod Posted November 23, 2018 Author Posted November 23, 2018 Today I finished the top side of the exhaust system. I probably have two more evenings and I will have this one wrapped up.
Eric Macleod Posted November 27, 2018 Author Posted November 27, 2018 This will be the final WIP installment. I have some decal work to do and will probably do a little work to add just a little road grime, then under glass. I always think a model looks more complete once its "eyes" are in place. So much for a quick build.
