custom build off

Well visited the other forum and viewed their build off but never saw one build off. A custom car build off. Got me thinking should we have a build off here. Winner would get pride and maybe i can talk gregg into postin his or her car into the mag. Rules are below. Whatcha think. Dependin on what people build i might make 2 catogaries. One for all of the older pre 60s cars and a second for the newer age cars. The enddate to register is sunday the 20th of july at 9 pm for everyone.

RULES

1. Has to be custom. Also has to be a domestic car, no imports. Any years allowed

2. Mild to wild, dragster, lowrider, rat rod, hot rod, drifter only. No nascars please.

3. Project may not be started.

4. It has to be your own work

5. Unlimited aftermarket use. Doesnt mean u have to use the aftermarket but for those who want to superdetail they may use aftermarket.

Well what do you guys think. Should we do it or not.

Honselty after the drag build off kinda fell through, I think its kinda silly to have build offs. I mean people have their own projects to do and want to get them done, not build something because of a build off.

Just my 2 cents.

what is the other forum you speak of?

not trying to take anything away, but i am involved in several build offs as it is and they all involved pre 70 period rod and kustom subjects.

i would be interested in a custom build off.....but i won't be able to commit until after August or something since these other builds are going.

Awbecrazy the other forum i speak of is scaleauto. May have overlooked one but didnt see a custom build off. Right now i am just seeing who would be down with this. If i get between 5 to 10 people to join in i will go ahead and set a end date and contact Gregg and see if he would be nice enough and print the winner and his or her car in the mag but key word here is IF. So far 3 people. Cool. The more the better. Oh one more thing bout the build off Trucks are allowed. Any questions comments concers fell free to post on this thread.

racers,and the good guy cars

Oh sorry thats what i wanted to clear up. Lowriders are included but they have to be from a certain period. Hot rods, rat rods to since they are period rods are included. Things that are not icluded here are dragsters, no drifters tuners nascars dirt racers, imports. Hope this clears some things up.

so the lowriders have to be from the late 60's

ahh ok i don't go to scale auto.

now you say 40s 50s 60s above...but below you say lowriders, rat rods etc.... these don't fit into the "custom" theme of the years you mentioned. could you be more specific to what years are allowed , sorry to be a pain. personally....i would build for it no matter what is "allowed" to be entered......because it gives me an excuse to build another model.

I need a new build and been toying with 5 or 6 different kits and ideas. This might help narrow it down, but what I have in mind isn't any of the 5 or 6.

I start now okay?

It might take me twenty minutes or so to dig it out of the stack.

you said custom right

now work with me here

why not do any year of custom,as well as any make or model,

i.e take a viper kit of any year and make it a street racer

or something along those lines

it would attract more people due to the fact that younger people dont really know old skool customs

but hay its your idea and you can count me in on it

It sounds like a good idea to me. A long lead time would be great as I have to finish an Impala for our club contest first though.

First real build of so please excuse me for the mistakes. Okay evilone. I like the idea you have given me about any year of car but has to be customized. I just would like to make on change to it. I would like it to be domestic cars only and all years are allowed may think about 2 catigories old school and newer age. No imports. Awbecrazy, you are not a paina at all i am glad you ask questions before you start. The reason i said rat rod is because it is kind of a kustom. Hot rods in some peoples eyes are customs too. Lowriders are always modefied so consider i them custom too. Let me make some chages to the first post so it is clear what to build. Thanks for your help and cooperation

Okay. I have fixed the first post so please check it out. So far i have these people participating. I want to make a deadline to enter on this build off. Deadline is sunday at 9 pm for everyone. The next people listed are the ones that have entered so far.

Great sounds good. I have decided on 2 classes. one for pre 70 vehicles and the second on after 70 vehicles. You would be in the after 70 class

Dang dudes. I just picked out my project. I am in the pre 70 class. Well its a 59 impala custom buildin a period custom around 60 to 62. Gona extend the fins, add some different streched taillights out of the origionals. Shaveed emblems handels. Trim will stay on different grill. Evil make a custom build progress thread on the workbench section.

I was in that Cuda Build off a while back on another board but after it was over well it was over and nothing was said about it? But I think the guys here would do it, I would like to be involved it might make me work on my 57 S/B Ranchero alittle more often and getrdone!! I say Yes!
