Dominik Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Another built from this year i will show you Mercedes 300 SLR Mille Miglia - Revell 7204 after i built my cannonballer (Uhlenhaut Coupe in 2017) i was pleased with this kit. "it isn't that bad, as they said"...so i crabbed it and built it right out of the box. i changed only the color of the interieur from blue to red because in my view it plays better with the red starting numbers. here we go. thank you for attention, comments welcome as always.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 You did great. I had this kit in the stash, and gave it to my cousin. he is building it for the last five months. Kind of curious to see what will result out of that. People can say the kit is bad, but I loved the tires, very well done, and realistic.
peekay Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Very nicely built. I always wondered why the windscreen wasn't more sloped back on this car.
Eric Macleod Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 I had the gull-wing version of this but decided it was too complex for me. You sure did it justice
Red318 Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Nice build, I agree with you on the interior, red is much better looking. Nice treatment on the engine too. Did you clear coat the body?
Bainford Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Very nice Merc. I have been interested in this kit for years so It's good to see one built up. I wasn't aware that this kit was generally deemed to be a poor kit. You have done an excellent job on yours. The black washing brings out the natural details quite well. Well done.
Mike999 Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Great job! Let's see if anybody else remembers this story, which I'm pretty sure was about #722. Though I'm old and might be wrong: After a race, a journalist razzed Sterling Moss about slowing down in the curves. Moss told the journalist to get in the car and put both feet hard on the brake pedal. The journalist did. Then Moss took one hand and pushed the car. It rolled easily. No brakes at all. Moss said, "I've been driving it that way for the last 100 miles."
89AKurt Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 ^^^ Great story! I have this kit, wondered how it builds. I figured it was typical quality, sure looks good to me!
Dominik Posted November 16, 2018 Author Posted November 16, 2018 yep, great story Michael Thank you very much for your kindly comments. much appreciated!
Silver Foxx Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 You do really nice work , it looks great .
Cpt Tuttle Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Does it have a bad reputation? I have one that is waiting to be built but I have no clue about the quality of the kit, what do you have to say about it?

Mattias, the kit is well done. over all it fits good. the frame in the front is easy to build, on the rear, i had problems with that "X-cross" up on the gastank and i had some problems there with the rear axle too - especially the brakedrums. they used really thin parts for the frame. one i can remember are the headlights. they wont fit (are to large). so i used photoetched lenses. the clear part were no problems. the last ones are the pipes out of the fender. i drilled them out because the sprue is on a bad place you cant over see it. all in all it was a very nice kit to built. i liked it.
Ich_Will Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Fantastic. I’d like to do one of these someday.
