yellowsportwagon Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 This is an AMT Fairlane body on a Polar Lights Chassis. The rollbar is MPC cut down two bars on the pass side. PPP tires and wheels. This was built out of spares and extra decals. Only purchases for the build were tires wheels and resin flat hood. Interior uses original sides switched side for side so the flat side shows. Fun little use up spares project.
moparfarmer Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Sweet..Thats when NASCAR Stock Cars were for real..They even looked real not like now..Very nice model and well done...
Dave Van Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 (edited) Another great build. Add to it I like the Woods cars....always classy. Hope you don't mind but this is a older build using the new tool Comet from AMT.....these kits, Fairlane and Comet, are often overlooked. They make nice Cup cars. Bud Moore Comet. TarheelRick Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Beautiful work on that Fairlane, has the look of the real thing. The Wood Brothers have always been one of my favorite race teams, ever since I saw Glenn drive a modified at Bowman Gray Stadium (yes, I am that old).
afx Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 The PL chassis looks like it fit real nice Tim - nice work.

Dave that one has been on my radar for a while too. I love Wood brothers and Bud Moore Cars.
MarkJ Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Thanks, Tim. I will save those pics for reference if I decide to do the Fairlane. Did you use the tires and wheels from the Talladega kit or are they from some other source.

I probably did some creative stuffing to get it all to fit.
bbowser Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Great model! You put spare parts together pretty well.
Nitrobarry Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 I love the fit of the body panels! Right on Build!
Jim N Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Another great model! The details are really outstanding, and even more so, as it was a spare parts build.

The more of your builds I find the more choice of available bodies there are to build some great classic cars.
