So I havnt built anything for about 4 years. I started missing the time consuming love and pain of custom building. So I dug out a '57 chevy cameo. I am almost finished with the "chopped top", this is this first time Ive ever chopped anything. So far everything is going smoothly. I will post pics hopefully tomorrow around this time. Like I said its been a while and this is my first tim using a big amount of putty. What grit sand paper should I use to sand the putty once its dried and also what grit for the paint so I can wet sand?

Thanks

Hello there friend! Yer question to sanding primarly begins with yer work habits ifn yer calm collective soul and time is of the essence then proceed in levels and take yer time. I use evercoat heavy glaze with a hardener. which dries pretty fast so I like to go slow with the amount applied each time. so that way even a smoother grit like 1000 can easily remove the excess putty or filler used.Ifn this doesnt help let me know ill throw a PM yer way...all in all keep on wit the keepin on!!

my friend it sounds like your confused

may i give you some suggestions

forget evergreen filler(bondo) only use it for huge projects such as th complete top of a 59 caddy hearse or the full coverage of a customized tractor

go get you some zap a gap and accelerator and use that

then go get some 230 grit,600 grit,1000 grit,and 2000 grit

then bam your set

ust the 230 and 600 grit to take down the zap a gap

paint

then use the 1000 and 2000 grit for polishing the paint

and if you need any help on what to do on you cameo go look at the 55 that im working on
