This will be the last one of the year.  I really like this kit, may build another as a stocker with a 6.  I was disappointed with the decals, no sponsor name or drivers names, guess they saved on royalties.  #87 was Buck Baker, 1956 and 1957 Grand National champ.  The Black Widow was basically a factory race car, lightweight and with the new 283 small block with mechanical fuel injection.  I believe it was a milestone creating 1 HP per cubic inch of displacement.

Great job, Bruce. I'm glad you didn't use the way oversized tires that some people have used on their builds of this car.

just didn't happen that way back then.

I think this kit has the only '57 Chevy 150 body that Revell (or model kit manufacturer, for that matter) has ever produced. I really wish Revell would re-release the '57 Chevy Black Widow kit so I could use the bodies for Drag Racing based builds, as well as building the NASCAR Black Widow...

That is an iconic race car that was likely raced on the Daytona beach course. There used to be a Black Widow book or pamphlet around with all details that went into the one Chevy dealers offered.

Great looking build.

Just curious about the mufflers. Were they used for track racing back then?

Likely not, the BW was originally bought out for street use with the Fuel Injection to give it a healthy 283 HP.
