ismaelg Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Hello, Just curious: Has there ever been a model of the 1948 Chevy Fleetmaster six-series? Yes, that was the Indy Pace car for 1948. Galaxie made the Aerosedan if I'm not mistaken. I have no idea if that could be used as a starting point. Thanks,
ismaelg Posted August 27, 2008 Author Posted August 27, 2008 Thanks Mark! I sent him an email asking for more details. Thanks,
The Modeling Hermit Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 The Galaxie Aerosedan kit can indeed easily be used for a starting point for that car Ismael, & there is a resin convertible transkit for it, & R&R made it. Star Models lists it on their website, & here's the link: http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/RRGalleries...olet/index.html Two pictures of the 48 Chevy convertible transkit are in the 4th row & they can be enlarged if needed. I've met Steve Kohler, (the guy that runs Star Models), & can vouch for his honesty & integrity, though I do recommend calling or emailing him as the the availability of the kit. He will also be upfront about the quality & condition of the kit, a good thing given R&R's somewhat checkered quality reputation. Hope this helps! I'm going to have to get a 48 Chevy coupe model from him. My first car was a 48 Chevy coupe.
