Now THAT'S a stance! ?

Also, great tip on the inner fender/frame interface. I feel that all of the Revellogram kits that are molded this way could benefit from this neat trick. Fitting those frames to the body - especially on final assembly - is an absolute pain because of the inner fender bits.

This is looking right, Greg. Nice attitude.

It's amazing how quickly five years zips by.

Thanks Guys! Yeah time sure flies when you’re retired…I remember at work when days dragged on forever.?

I think the steering column is way too long, so I chucked it in my drill and shaped it down to a more realistic length. Made a new turn signal lever from .015” wire and Super glue. I have no decals for this kit, so I used the leftover guages from a Revell ‘Cuda.?IMG_4598.jpeg.d57ea2207483a9cb03301c27ade6b45b.jpeg

I was all set to put some primer on the body…I thought. I went to test fit the hood and find that it sits way below the fender level. I had to add a .020” strip on the drivers side, and .015” on the passenger side. That’s were it sits now. When the Tamiya thin is dry enough I will shave the excess off the spacer strips.

Nice work as always Greg. The stance is spot on. I like the inner front fender mods, great idea. Oh.. and drilling the door handles out, ??

Nice work so far!,what are you using to drill out the door handles?.

Thanks Curtis. I used a .031” drill bit in a hand held pin vise. I VERY carefully drilled four holes, then used a sharp hobby knife to whittle and scrape out the center. Then I cut a long strip of 1000 grit sandpaper about 3/32”  wide and used it like dental floss to smooth out the hole. I see it needs a bit more dressing.

Looking sweet in primer! I have to tell you, this makes me want to pull this kit out of the stash.

Are you planning to use the kit wheels & tires?

Yes…so far. I kinda like the look, but I haven’t looked through my very limited stash of which and tires to see if I have anything nicer.

The kit items are a pretty nice representation of the Pontiac 8 hole spinner hubcaps. I like them quite a lot, but I'm not sure if they fit other tires that well.

Ha!  nice work on a pretty outdated kit.  if anyone can make it look good, you are the one to do it

LOL, thats my green tape on the box,  I must have sold it to you at the club a few years back!

I don’t recall where I got it Dave, but I’ve had it for about six years. For sure either from a club member or one of the flea markets here. It’s possible I guess…I have a really bad memory.? Anyways, thanks for the vote of confidence.?

In honour of Snake45, I decided to strip the completed engine and paint it the proper color. I added a few extra details other than the plug wires that I had already installed, like some fuel lines, breather hose, alternator bracket and PS hoses. The PS pump is still hanging out in the middle of nowhere, but not too noticeable after installation I hope. I borrowed the chrome valve covers from a Polar Lights ‘64 GTO since I had stripped the originals.?

I got the chassis finished.

I painted the roof and engine bay with semi-gloss black. Then I gave the roof a coat of Testors dullcoat, and I thought it looked a little too shiny compared to my previous attempts.

I used Tamiya XF-86 flat clear on the others, so I gave it a coat, but this time it came out dead flat.?

So I gave it a coat of AK satin varnish…and now I’m pretty much back to the original SG finish.? I’m not sure I can put anything over the varnish so it will have to do. i guess the owner went crazy with the Armor-all.?

I wonder if you can mix the AK semi with AK flat and give it a thin coat to tone things down a little? I don't think it looks bad, honestly. Like you said, it's totally plausible that the scale owner went a little heavy on the vinyl dressing!

Also, that chassis looks good, super sano.
