lordairgtar Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Neat model build. It always puzzled me on how to depict the tail lights as they are usually hidden behind some chrome ribs 3

NOBLNG Posted October 10, 2024 Author Posted October 10, 2024 Got the interior finished. I used foil for the seats and upper chrome molding on the doors, Revell Chrome on the rest. I replaced the shifter with a pin. Iām not happy with how the carpet turned out, but it wonāt really be visible easily once the body is on.? I am using the GTO decals from the Polar Lights kit. 5
customline Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 This project is rolling right along rather nicely, Greg. Dash is super. Good choice on interior color, I'm a sucker for white vinyl. Engine looks terrific in factory color. Work faster!Ā ?

I think it will be a nice contrast to the Maroon exterior.? My speeds are: Plodding, full stop, and back the truck up.? 6 minutes ago, TopherMcGinnis said: I think the interior looks AWESOME!Ā Thanks Topher!?
johnyrotten Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 Very nice. White interiors always "pop". Can't wait to see this finishedĀ
NOBLNG Posted October 26, 2024 Author Posted October 26, 2024 Iāve got paint on it, but I keep winding up with a bit of trash in the paint.? I swept and vacuumed the garage floor the other day so I will try another coat, then some clear. 1 1
johnyrotten Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 Your car looks awesome. I get so annoyed when an otherwise good paint job picks up the random speck, hair or pterodactyl.Ā
DJMar Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 That's a bummer. It looks like most of that can be sanded out (?). I really like the color, though. ??
NOBLNG Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 (edited) Back on this one. I finally got the clear coat looking acceptableā¦to me anyways.š¤ And I got the foiling done. Iāll brush a little Revell Chrom on the door handles after assembly. Edited January 6 by NOBLNG 6

I have always been apprehensive to try that. But you have confirmed my suspicions that it looks way better. 1
Bainford Posted January 7 Posted January 7 That's looking real nice, Greg. With the body shined up, the roof sheen looks good, not too shiny. Nice foil work. 1
Steve H Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Looking fabulous Greg! I agree with Trevor above špaint, and foil work are šš 1
NOBLNG Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 (edited) Thanks Fellas!š I detailed the grill and bumpers today. Ā Edited January 7 by NOBLNG 2
NOBLNG Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 I should have made some positive bumper mounts sooner. The lumps at the rear are what I assume would be the mounts on a 1:1, but they are about 1/8ā short of touching the bumper.š”Ā The only contact points on both bumpers is the painted bodyā¦.so after locating them both with a small amount of CA, I attached some tabs to bridge the gap with epoxy. After a bit of paint they wonāt be too noticeable.š¬ I had to lengthen the upper rad hose and shorten the lower one. Iām pretty sure I have the rad in correctly, but when I made a shallow rad cap the hood would not close flush. So I converted the rad to a cross flow sort of. The rad should have been lowered a bit I think.š¤ 2
Zippi Posted January 9 Posted January 9 That's looking pretty nice there Greg.Ā Love the detail work.Ā Ā 1

This is looking beautiful.Ā 1
dino246gt Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Looks Grrrrreat! Love the interior detail and the grille with maroon between it and the bumper. Very nicely done! 1
TransAmMike Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Well as a big fan of the 64-67's I'm sure liking your work here. 1
NOBLNG Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Well it turns out the center nose piece was also (or maybe the only thing) interfering with the hood closure. I should have filed down the width of it before paint so that it would sit closer down to the bumper.š„“ Anyways, I filed it down and touched it up a bit and good enough.š¬ I am calling it done. Thanks for all the compliments and encouragement along the way folks!š More pics under glass Here:Ā https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/198033-ā64-pontiac-gto/
