Jeff T. Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Hi guys. I need to know how much of difference there is between the cab of the T660 and the T270/370 series,Dimension wise. I understand that the sleeper figures in slightly to the 660.....But overall arent' the cabs basically the same? And if any one knows how long the hood is on the T660, from grill to fire wall? I'm trying to use the information on the KW web site to see how close everything is for a conversion. Any help would be great. JT
Old Albion Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Jeff, Check Tim's web site. I'm sure he built a small modern Kenworth and explained the changes that he had to make to the standard box stock Kenworth T600. Hope this helps Best Wishes Dave Bates
Jeff T. Posted September 6, 2008 Author Posted September 6, 2008 Thanks Dave. I've been all over his site.... He has got some great reference stuff there! Heres a pic from the web.... Some major body difference's from the "800". They kinda look like a Pete "386" I did some work on this....I found an owner/operator that allowed me to measure his open hood. And I came up with 4' 11" from the back of the hood to where the grill starts. I even went to the local Kenworth dealership! They guard this stuff as if it was "Tippy top secret!". He had superb drawings on his computer....Something he called a "Data-Book", but it would not allow him to make copies? It had all the dimensions you could ask for! I'm going to keep plugging away as long as I can. JT
Old Albion Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Jeff, I wonder if the hoods are the same between the KW and the Pete just a different radiator grill?? I saw some of the T660 KWs same colour as your photo when I was in the US in May this year. They do look very nice. I wonder if one of Tim's 386 hoods from AITM could be adapted to fit the KW cab and frame? Best Wishes Dave Bates
