Can anyone answer....What? ....is or defines a "Turnpike cruiser?

I think their original idea was to say that this model was comfortable and smooth on long highway drives.

Turnpike = highway

Cruiser = comfortable drive.

This is a great looking Merc!! Looks long and low! Perfect color for a cruise around a Florida beach! I'd certainly drive it!!

Keith, that was the idea when I built it.....

Doing a 66 Chevy PU in the same color. I had never discovered it until now, but it is a great color. Looks fantastic on the Mercury.

thanks, Steve, I like this color really well

Sweet job, Al! How did you rechrome the bumpers?

I used the Harry P method, 1. cleaned in the purple pond, let dry for a few days. 2. Next coated with Tamiya  gloss black, & dry for a few days. 3. sprayed with Spaz Stix Chrome in light coats until it looks like chrome & stop...avoid just one more coat though or it will go bad..

hope this helps

Turnpike = highway

Cruiser = comfortable drive.

Coastal = along the ocean, FLA or CA

Cruiser = enjoying the ride

thanks Patrick
