LUKE'57 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) Thanks to everyone who post positively to this series, I'm glad you enjoyed it. And thanks to the ones who posted in the other direction, at least I know you looked. ______________________________________________________________________________- THE LAST PAIR OF THIS SERIES. By now everyone knows (or at least, in the interest of harmony, I hope they do) that these are just flights of fancy born of the troubled mind and misspent youth of the ol' redneck model race car builder. I think I may have to come up with something else for the next time so that it won't ruffle so many feathers and cause so many sleepless nights. Any suggestions for a new format for the next project...collector cards, freeze frame TV screen captures, post cards,...etc. ? Edited September 5, 2008 by LUKE'57
RodneyBad Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Great looking cars. Crazsy they raced Convertibles back then. The wind in your hair kind've days.
HotRodaSaurus Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Did they race ragtops back then? I don't have any old mags covering vintage NASCAR or stock car racing. The TV screen shots idea sounds a good idea but would you have that slightly fuzzy look of a TV screen or HD ? curved or flat screen? J

J Nascar's convertible division ran from '56 thru '59 but since Darlington promoter loved the ragtops he kept the spring race a ragtop event until the last Nascar topless event in '62. Increasing speeds and the hassle and expense of cutting of the roofs off the Grand National cars just for one event finally did it in. It will probably be at least flat screen if only because I'm lazy. One less step to do for the picture.
ricky12 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 thanks for the great works . we could only hope a model company could come up with some cars as nice as the ones you have built and displayed
