Greg Wann Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 I am doing this for a client. He is wanting to create a convertible version.
djflyer Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 (edited) I have the Airfix 24th scale kit of that car - was opened, but never touched. It needs a correction to the tail end , but after that its just like the DB5 kit that it was based on. It will be great to see a convertible version if thats what you're basing yours on. Coincidentally, I just picked up a glue-bomb Airfix DB5. Missing a few parts but I can hopefully copy those from my Bond DB5 kit. Best part is no rear glass or roof panel so it will get turned into a convertible (or maybe the a shooting brake). Edited June 1, 2019 by djflyer

Look at the "real estate" between the rear of the door and the front edge of the rear wheel opening.

Airfix did lengthen the chassis when they converted the DB5 to the '6. And of course modified the rear bodywork, which is supposedly why the DB5 will never be seen again. You can see from the pics the top of the window line isnt quite right either, but thats a simple fix. Edited June 1, 2019 by djflyer
