Just a week ago I said Hamilton was good for at least on more major mistake that could cost him dearly, this could be the one. Q2 Hamilton tried to out smart himself with a set of inters in a torrential down pour at Monza that coasted him a trip to Q3 and the run for pole. The same fate Kimi found himself in, qualifying 14th just ahead of Hamilton in P15.

So not only does Hamilton start way back where history has proven that he hasn’t been able to fight his way back to the front he will have to get around the Kimster.

Meanwhile Massa who hasn’t been the best in the rain qualified P6.

Who is on Pole? Vettel, the youngest driver to take pole position ever in a surprising Q3 effort. In fact, both junior Scuderia Ferraris will start Monza better than the veteran factory team drivers. STR is coming on strong, for sure.

It should prove to be an interesting race tomorrow as they are predicting more of the same wet weather for the race. So results are a lottery.

This could be the one where Massa pulls ahead of current Championship leader Hamilton by a significant margin with 4 races to go.

Rained, yeah the same  Well I watched the replay race and boy was that exciting, I loved it! The points race between Massa and Hamilton is just 1 point, GO MASSA!

Those Ferrari's just had a phenomenal day, with Vettel taking the win from the pole, outstanding, and for the first win in years for Torro Rosso, man he is my idol! Heikki also had a great race, he's getting up there with the years in staying in F1 and some others. Interesting race for points and with manufacture points.

Can't wait for Singapore! :(

What did I say about STR last week? I was off the mark on the team! Thankfully I was right about the drivers. I love it when the little guy wins!

CAL is right about Hamilton. I think that he will mess up in Singapore. I may be way off base, but if they are right that late braking will be the way to pass, then my money is on that Ham will overdrive the car. As much as I miss Schumacher, this has been a great season.

Ferrari just needs to accept it, Massa is their top driver. I look forward to him capturing the crown. I know, it isn't a done deal, but hey, you gotta have confidence in your team!!!

Cheers,

Greg

Yeah, Singapore will be something else, First ever night race for F1.

I would have like to seen that Massa/Hamilton margin bigger, but all things considering Massa did a good job. Best finish at Monza in F1, in the rain, and stayed a head of Hamilton. A pretty good job all in all, considering it could have been a lot worse.

Fantastic job by Scuderia Toro Rosso. Heikki isn't that old, clearly not happy today.

Every race proves Hamilton to be a bigger A-hole. Not withstanding the comment he made about Kimi, "he doesn't have the balls for F1," and the pass he made on Webber, I quess Webber must like him. Some else said it best..., "he's just a dirty little racer with a dirty little mouth - and careless with both to boot.

I fear now that if someone doesn't cool his heals he will take himself or someone else out in a big way. Denise isn't going to stop him, he is nearly as bad - only in management. I would be seriously afraid to race next to Hamilton.

He has already rearended three drivers and run a number of other off the road.

That was a great race for the Little team.

Yeah, Hamilton is good for over-driving the car and that is what get's him into trouble every single time.

There is little question, I am sure, that Massa is Ferrari's new No. 1. He would have to DNF twice and Kimi would have to win twice just to even it up. I don't see that happening.

I sure hope Massa wins the WDC. He has really matured as a driver over this season in partcular. It would be a real shame to crown that disgracefull silver bullet driver anything. If he keeps it up he will get a Senna rep (he won races but he was not like at all by anyone), not a Shummi rep, which is what he was looking for.

BTW, the Hamilton hearing is Sept 22 just before Singapore. I think they are wasting their time and efforts. They have come up with not less than 3 excusses for what he did, none of them very good, which means they have nothing, really, and he will have to appear in court and fly directly to Singapore for practice. Not the way to start a race weekend on a new track I suspect.

Yes, I agree. I think Hamilton will take out somebody in a big way. I have no doubt he is going to mess up late braking in Singapore, and take someone out. I just hope it isn't someone in contention. As for being Senna like, I am sorry the Senna got killed, but his taking out Prost and Ferrari's championship, was deliberate and unconscionable. I could see him doing something like that. F1 doesn't need to go down that path again. Save it for NASCAR. Yes, I know that I am a hypocite because I believed Schumacher's loss of control that took out Damon Hill in Australia (the pos RoG kit that I am trying to de-turdify).

So, it'll still be early a.m. for the Singapore race. 6:30 in the a.m. for us cst types. I'm sure it'll be well worth it!

I know, they did it so it would be on at a reasonable time in Europe. :P

Yeah, I can't wait. Singapore should be spectacular at night.

Oh yeah, he is much more of a Senna than a Michael Schumacher.

I have watched that video of Senna/Prost two dozen times. It's mind boggling. MS and Hill wasn't anything close.

I don't know if it will be in Singapore or even this season, but eventually he will get the big scare -- if it doesn't kill him. It's just going to happen if he keeps his driving style and attitude up, not that I am looking for anyone to get hurt. But sometimes you just see it coming, and he clearly takes way more risk than anyone else currently in F1, which doesn't necessarily make him World Champ material.

You know what I mean, he's been in F1 for years and been throuhg tons of team changes.

and yes, you know I agree with you on Hamilton, just....a-hole, especially after what he said ;) Overdriving is his problem

Yeah I heard about that on SPEED and I know I will watch it all because I wrote all the dang times down and I am waking up early on Sunday, I think 7am on the east coast but there's going to be some pre race shows. I hope Massa wins too, he is their No. 1 and he's my driver along with Vettel and Kimi and Heikki!;)

Did I meantion I can't wait for Singapore? ;) Seriously, this is like the 24 Hours, it is huge and a lot of interest, I know I am. I am all of a sudden an avid F1 watcher, not so much before, followed it breifly but I'm glued now, love Monza and Hamilton lost, so I think that was my starter and with Singapore, I am fully interested!

Nobody can match Senna....well maybe Bruno which I heard was talking about ALMS, maybe Risi!?!? and F1 :o, Prost or Hill, for the time you're talking about them. They just were the pioneers really and made all good racing, that battle you're talking about, me too, incredible but while I do agree on the NASCAR pushing and shoving comment, I don't think Senna's intentions were close, losing Ferrari's championship  but deliberatly I don't know.

Who's like Senna?????? and when Vettel crossed the line at Monza, they said only 90 more to go! :P

Some say it was Prost who had a broken car and ran into Senna to secure the WDC.

I was very pleased to see that there are posts concerning the Italian Grand Prix.I will be back to view posts after each of the remaining Grands Prix.If anyone knows me from another message board it's well know that i am a huge fan of Scuderia Ferrari.I thought it would be sour grapes if i had mentioned the rather apalling driving of Wonderboy Hamilton.I'm glad to read that i'm not alone in this opinion.PLEASE Felipe, overtake Hamilton and stay there."Forza Ferrari!!!"

Len! I was actually surprised it has taken you this long to make it here.

I wish I could confer about the race but I had to work and I'll be working during the replay as well.

Thanks for the news guys.

also wondering what took so long.

No sour grapes here and you are in good company.

No less than 5 drivers have now publicly condemend Hamilton's driving of late. In fact, Glock said, "he the next time he next to Hamilton he would behave the same way, he promised." "He drives as though there isn't any one else on the track but himself."

Webber said, "I don't know that he (Hamilton) was thinking I was being careful, I was covering my inside as I didn't want to stay in the wet. I would not have made the corner. Then he just clipped my front wing and kept on going."

Alonso said, there was definitely some unnecessary driving by Hamilton…, “but that’s his way of racing I guess.†Alonso also earlier said he fully deserved the penalty at Spa. IIRC some other drivers out side Scuderia Ferrari felt the same. I wonder if any of those who said it was a bit harsh has a different opinion now?

The F1 community seems split, but slightly un-in-favor of Hamiltons behavior, and clearly McLaren has no control over him.

I fear he is going to have a big crash and hurt somebody. If it keeps up FIA will have to step in a consider pulling his super-comp license because I don't think just talking to and threatening action will do it. What 3-4 penalties now hasn't done anything but seem to make him a worse risk on the track. And I don't think he is beyond the point of getting to desperation and pulling something really stupid.

And I am not sure what happened but something was going on with HK that he wasn't saying. Clearly not a happy camper at Monza.

On another note, Ferrari all but has said Massa is their new No.1, and Kimi said he would help Massa if he can.

Massa was my under-dog pick at the start of the year. I hope he does it.

GO MASSA! "Forza Ferrari!!!"

haha you sound like me! oh yes, I love Monza so, it played out. Well, as you will find out if you couldn't already, I love my Ferrari's too! No you are not alone and I think you will love it in this case!

No Lizards in F1. :P Maybe someday again... they do have 3 F1 WDC titles and 51 F1 victories, though.

So it's FORZA Ferrari in F1

Go Lizards in road racing.
