walt francis Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) Just had a few a couple bad spots on the rear fenders to fix And then found out one of the valve covers is missing so we dig out the silly puddy and 5min. epoxy and cast one up Here's two test shots, just might have a winner out of these Any comment or Questions or HELP is more than welcome Edited September 28, 2008 by walt francis
RodneyBad Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 5 min epoxy and silly puddy. That sounds so silly and works good. Nice old kit.
84vanagon Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 (edited) Hi Walt. That's a S-1. It's a re-pop of the Aurora kit. Monogram acquired some of the old Aurora molds in the late 80's (IIRC) and released some of them. The Maserati 3500, Ferrari GTO and the Porsche 904 were in this series. Monogram did some retooling on the Porsche . The others were released pretty much as Aurora had done them back in the early 60's. I don't think the Ford GT 40 was re-released, and the Avanti is "god knows where" . Edited September 23, 2008 by 84vanagon
Robert81 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Beautiful Jag. got to love the E-type. Monogram acquired some of the old Aurora molds in the late 80's (IIRC) and released some of them. I don't think the Ford GT 40 was re-released, and the Avanti is "god knows where" . I know the GT-40 was re-released once in the mid to late 90's under the SSP line. I wish I had bought it.
84vanagon Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I know the GT-40 was re-released once in the mid to late 90's under the SSP line. I wish I had bought it. Thanks, Robert. I forgot about the GT40 in the Aurora style box. I was thinking of the Exotics series and the SSP totally escaped me.
MojaveRacer208 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Where does one find Silly Putty these days? The last time I ran across it was maybe 15 years ago in a machinist's tool supply catalog. It was everywhere when I was a kid...LOL I never was real fond of the shape of the nose and fenders on the Aurora XKE. Maybe if one kitbashed it with a Revell roadster...? Richard
walt francis Posted September 28, 2008 Author Posted September 28, 2008 Getting the divits filled Getting the light buckets shaped their is still more fitting for the bucets but we are getting close rear fenders all fixed
