Ben269 Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Finally got this finished. It fought me the whole way. I painted it twice, applied the decals twice, the whitewalls twice. I like the way it turned out, its good from a distance, but i am not happy with the wheels and tires. I love the engine bay, though. Also very happy with the interior, its one of my best.
Maindrian Pace Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Super clean, love the engine and the color combo. A cool rare car too, I believe Jay Leno is restoring one.
espo Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Looks great to me. You're right about the interior and the engine bay, they both look good. I also like the paint color and finish. These were under appreciated cars when new. The OHC 6 could be had with everything from a fuel sipping single carb. running on regular gas too a premium fuel big cam'd Quadra Jet carb. and a 3-speed or a 4-speed and the TH350 auto.
ewetwo Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Looks great. I actually owned a 1967 Firebird with the overhead cam 6. It had a 4 barrel carb with spit headers from the factory. For a 6, that car could move.
Ben269 Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 Thanks for the compliments. It felt good just to finish it up. I had that engine from the MPC kit about 20 years ago, and built it before I had anything to put in, just because I thought it was neat. Turned out really nice with some detailing!
Snake45 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Very, VERY nice! What's the color/paint? Well done and model on!
Sport Suburban Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 That came out great! I have had a few fight me before. Good job staying with it and finishing it!
David G. Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 You're right, the interior and engine bay look great. The paint looks good too, excellent color choice. I'd be proud to put it in my display case. It was well worth the effort. David G.
kelson Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Turned out beautiful!!, I have a resin convertible in my stash and plan to do something similar, except paint mine meridian turquoise.
Ben269 Posted October 19, 2019 Author Posted October 19, 2019 Not a resin, I cut the roof off and used the wind shield and boot from the revell 69 camaro.
Deuces Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Great idea!!!!!.... Love the build also.... ☺️?
