Jeff T. Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Tim; First....Your site keeps me busy...Thank you for work you put in to it. Now, if you can help a Kenworth person make the transition to the "Dark Side"..... Based on your photo's of the 388/389... High cab... 389 Low cab... 3892 Are they based on this cab? low roof high roof I'm using the body builder manual drawings(PDF) from the main Pete site for a little project. But your pictures make documenting a breeze...I'm just lost when it comes to all the new models! The 388/389 look so "Sweet!". Tim any help on the cab issue would be great. Jeff T.
mackinac359 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Jeff The basic cab shell (model wise) is the same. The difference is the roof cap (the real truck has all sorts of structural and material differences). The Italeri 378 or 377 cabs only need the roof cap (by the way, Matt at Monkeyclaw resin has the UltraCab roof option available in resin, his is slightly different and called the Magnaroof.) To make a newer post '05 truck, you will need to modify the door release handles, the passenger side peep window, the lower ledge of the door glass and the mirror mounts on the doors have to be sanded off. (this door panel is in resin from Spauldings, you'll have to email them directly, it isn't on their site). Tim
