Got the second color done on the Nova wagon curbside. Now to decide if I clear it with gloss or matte as originally planned. ?

Hi Keith, really nice looking mock up!  Hmmmm… matte, or gloss… fairly certain either will look great. I may have missed it, but whose wheels are those?

I’m finally getting some bench time. Got my brother-in-laws car foiled, decaled, and cleared. I’ll let this cure for a week or 2, then polish it. Mica silver, 2 coats of pearl white, one coat of clear pearl, 3 coats of clear.

Hi Steve, thanks for the compliment. I’m starting to lean towards leaving the main body matte and the roof gloss to offset each other. The wheels are from Texas3DCustoms.

Managed to more or less finalize the frame work/cage for my C5R Silverado. Fender supports in the front are there as well as body mounts for the rear quarters. I almost think i am starting to be done with frame work exept for som finishing touches and some platic card on the dashboard.

That's all really pretty work, Dusty man! The window trim, PE, and especially that paint.........  B)

Thanks man! It looks pretty good, but I made a lot of rookie mistakes.  2K job could be much better, amongst some other things. Instead of binning it I told myself I was gonna finish her on up.  Didn’t want the rest to go to waste, as my first attempt at “weathering” to lol.

I very seldom post any progress or WIP's on here but I'm so pleased with how the paint job polished out today on my current build I decided to do it today.

Paint is Anita's Metallic Black craft  paint over Mr. HobbySurfacer 1500 black and cleared with Tamiya X-22.  The Metallic is super fine gold and not visable in the picture.

Started working on my newest project.A Hasagawa VW Type 2 pick up.I started mocking up the exhaust. The 3D printed exhaust is made by the VDub model shop. The seats, steering wheel and door panels are painted Tamiya TS-19 metallic blue. The door panels are Highlight Model Studio items. The plaid decals on the door panels and seat are made by Scale Motorsports. The 3-D printed roof rack is a Mac Modelisme item painted with Revell chrome spray.

Got my airbrush setup today with the water trap and air regulator in one. I also included mounts for my airbrushes. I made this so I can hook it up to the quarter inch NPT on my garage air compresser. And a cool bonus, it's Portable (probably going to make it so I can bolt it down to bench)!20240607_155323.thumb.jpg.8c4742f38d00201913b13835edd275e7.jpg

Got this done over the last few days.

I have installed a bunch of magnets for holding the hood as well as the front and to hold the engine in place.

i also started with 3mm aluminum rod to make an exhaust from the turbo then drilled the end of the turbo and the pipe and placed a magnet there as well. I also drilled holes for the exhaust in the bedside.

I have also made the integrated racing high beams, I will be using  the clear glass from the C5-R kit later but it looks cool even with the corvette coverplate, had to turn everything upside down due to the shape of the bumper.

I also got some more work done on my rear suspension.

What do you guys think about the front splitter? Yey or nay?

That's awesome.........  You painted all three parts in one pass, huh? Are you using a jamb gun? You may have mentioned before, sorry if I missed it.......

Hello  JollySlipper, I am using a iwatta lph400 spray gun. the iwatta lph 400 is pretty expensive. I have several iwatta paint guns. And a few iwatta air brushes. I sometimes use a sata mini jet. I have several Sata jet spray guns. I have been in the paint and body business since 1969. So this is why I have an assortment of spray guns. Thank you for the compliment.

I picked up this glue bomb the other day. Thankfully the builder didn’t scrape the plating before glue, so there isn’t too much damage to the chrome. The glue that was there on the bare plastic was dry and brittle so I managed to get it mostly disassembled. I am missing a wheel and tire that I may cast, or maybe I’ll swap them all out? I found an excellent WIP thread on resurrecting this kit. Thanks for posting it Steve!?
