crazyjim Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Not my normal finish, but I needed to try this patina thing. So here it is. Red oxide primer followed by light gray primer/sealer and then Tru-Color cobalt blue. Sanded some areas trough to primer and then cleared with a rattle can Duplicolor. Bed floor was hand painted with 4 different colors.
cobraman Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 OK ,you just about gave me a stroke ! Mr. shiny does a patina build ? Color me shocked. It does look good however. ?
crazyjim Posted February 3, 2020 Author Posted February 3, 2020 Come on Ray. It's still SHINY, kinda sorta. Thank you Ray and Carl.
espo Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 I like the style of your finish. Reminds me of a car that got polished to the point that the color coat gets worn away. This would happen to vehicles of this era since the paint used was not a durable as what is used today. The Flat Head engine with the Aluminum Heads and duel Carbs look great. The bed looks almost to nice, but I wouldn't change a thing. Well built for sure.
89AKurt Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Great first patina job! Well loved vehicles aren't always trashed, nice subtle sunburn.
crazyjim Posted February 3, 2020 Author Posted February 3, 2020 Thank you Al, David, David, and Kurt. Just had to try my luck at a patina. Never the dark side.
