Got this kit at a Hobby Lobby sale.  It's an AMT kit.  It's not bad at all.   Makes for a very nice build.  Note that if you put the Continental on the back you will not be able to have the rear plate.

Great looking build. I like the paint scheme and interior combination. The 1:1 cars with the Continental Kit would often mount the rear license plate on the tire cover. May not be the prettiest way but many of the covers actually had a slight recessed area for mounting the license plate.

Yeah, I don't know why they didn't do that with this kit.  I guess the continental was an after thought for them.  It should also have had Thunderbird on the valve covers.  The box shows it, but the kit does not have it.

Continental kits were almost never a factory installed item.

They were after market items and they could vary a lot depending on the manufacturer.

While some may have had a frame mounted to the spare tire cover itself, it was probably more common to see the license plate mounted directly on the bumper.
