Thanks fellas. I'm gonna say this, like I do with most of my builds, but I'm thinking this will be a relatively quick build.

That's a cool parts box!

I'm liking the look of this. Not too sure of the gas tank on top of the cover, right behind the driver's head - maybe put it IN the bed, below the cover. Would be a safer idea.

Needs to have a beast of an engine to go with it. Maybe with a giant blower on top of it.

Not sure what direction I'm going with this yet as to a powerplant. I will be removing the legs off of the bottom of the fuel tank which will drop it a bit so as to be blocked by more of the rear wall of the cab. That way it won't be sitting up so high.

I spent the day cleaning up parts. Removing mold lines and filling low spots in the frame.

I also have had this blue piece for a couple of years because I thought it would make a good grill surround. I narrowed it and this is what I ended up with. I think it will work well.

Agree, and I have an even better idea. Put a hard cover on the bed and declare loudly and often that it's not a pickup bed anymore, IT'S NOW A FUEL TANK. This will keep your model from getting moved--either now, or when it goes Under Glass--down to the Truck section, where most of the car modelers will never see it.

Thanks guys. Not much done today. Actually had to work at work today. Worked out a bit of the front suspension though. Going for a suicide set up.

Funny, but true!

Better yet, tell 'em it's a LARGE trunk, so it can't be classified as a pickup.

So, I got the bed lowered a bit to sit on the frame. It's starting to look pretty good to me. Now to settle on some tires and wheels and some locomotion.

I would leave the tank exactly as you have it here!....its a refreshing change from the usual, and lets face it, if you get hit while cruising around in this, it wont really matter if the tanks behind you....there are PLENTY of hotrods out there that do things that arent really the best idea, but they sure do look cool!! ...love what you're doing here -keep up the GREAT work, Bud!!!

I enjoy parts box builds- the sense of endless possibilities.

You have a very good start on yours, I can't wait to see what's next.
