Sam I Am Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Grest job on the front suspension and the wheels look great. I'll reserve judgment on the color combo until I see it finished. ?
Modlbldr Posted April 28, 2020 Author Posted April 28, 2020 Thanks Sam. Got some flat light blue grey for the bed cover and parts of the interior. Later-
espo Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Nice looking color, I have a question about the "Chrome Spiders" for your wheels. I'm thinking they are placed on the wheel at this point to just get an idea how it will look. I like this style and wish they were more available. The original design of these were to cover the lug nuts and the mounting bracket was mounted between the wheel and the actual lug nut. The chrome portion was mount to the bracket by small screws.
Modlbldr Posted April 29, 2020 Author Posted April 29, 2020 Yes, the spider caps were placed just to get a visual of what they would look like. I have since removed the lugs and nuts so they won't be there. Unfortunately, these spider caps are a hair small and don't quite reach as far as the bolt pattern was. But since I have repainted the wheels you probably won't be able to tell. I spent some time.today making a floor for the cab out of a piece I found in my parts box. Had to go back and modify the firewall a bit. I may have gotten ahead of myself by painting the body already. Oh well. Later-
espo Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 I have often gotten in what I call the "hardly wait" state of mind and get the body in color before I figure out how to stuff everything else inside it.

Seems to be a thing with me. I did manage to get the dash panel made and installed. Changed my plan with the floor. I found one from a 29 that had the ribs underneath. Going with that now. Progress is slow because they are actually expecting me to do work while at work. Later-
Modlbldr Posted April 30, 2020 Author Posted April 30, 2020 Getting a look at what it's starting to look like. Later-
Sam I Am Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Very understated paint scheme Tom. Getting a definite 50's vibe.
Modlbldr Posted May 4, 2020 Author Posted May 4, 2020 More progress today. Got the frame up on wheels and the interior put together minus the shifter. Finding a set of seats small enough to fit in that tiny body was a bear. Still need to try to snuggle the body down a bit more on the frame. I'm managing to thin out some areas of my parts boxes. Later-
Sam I Am Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Looking sharp! Your interior panels look familiar, I just can't place them though.
Modlbldr Posted May 4, 2020 Author Posted May 4, 2020 Thanks Sam. The interior panels are cut from the aluminum freshness seal from my 3 lb coffee can at work. I've been saving them for a while and finally had a use for them. Later-
Modlbldr Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 While working on this this morning I set the body and frame aside and then noticed this... Looks like the start of a 29 COE pickup. Hhmmm. Ideas.... Later-
Plowboy Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 I like the color Tom! On my screen, it looks more green than silver blue. Is that the actual color or is my screen just showing it wrong?

Is that the actual color or is my screen just showing it wrong? It definitely is more green. Not at all what the sticker on the cap looks like. It was disappointing when I first shot it but decided to go with it anyway. I've been getting a lot of the small stuff done on this one. From the parts box I installed the taillights and a side mirror. I also installed a knob on the steering wheel.(what my Mom always called a necker knob). Finished up the grill and pieced together the bed. Been working on the engine lately. Pictures to come when I get back to work. Later- Edited May 9, 2020 by Modlbldr
Modlbldr Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 Making progress. Getting the engine put together. I need to make some engine and tranny mounts now. I'm liking the necker knob. Later-
Modlbldr Posted May 18, 2020 Author Posted May 18, 2020 Got some more progress on the engine done. Got to finish wiring the distributor, put the grille/ headlights on and then the steering arm. Later-
Sam I Am Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Looking good Tom! The color combo is growing on me. lol
Modlbldr Posted May 20, 2020 Author Posted May 20, 2020 All done! Moved to Under Glass. Thanks for following along. Later-
Bugatti Fan Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 It's amazing what can be built from an accumulation of parts from many years modelling.
Tom Geiger Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 Fun! You have me wanting to push aside my current Jeepster project and pull out my Model A and T parts boxes! And per finding unusual engines I have a Jeep / Buick V6 that’s not doing nuthin!
