Hunting For a Kit Bash Build

Alright, Here is a question to stump you.

Many Years ago, in one of the Contest Annuals (I can't remember if it was this Magazine, or the 'other' one), somebody had built a Kitbash of the old 1/32 Monogram Mack Fire Truck, and the even older AMT Star Trek, "Galileo" Shuttlecraft. The back of the shuttle had been neatly cut off, and the Pumper Body of the Mack had grafted into place. It was all finished in Eye Searing Lime Green. The Photo stands out in my mind, to this day, but I have no idea where I saw it. I'm sure it was one of the Contest Mags, but I've got lots, and I have no clue where to look.  A friend of mine, who saw it back then, wants to try to build his own, after all these years, (After all, what else has he got to do now)?

So, I'm putting this out there. Does anybody remember the build? Any Idea who built it? What magazine it was in?

Or, am I hallucinating? (which could be happening!)

Some More Information on this build. I found some old notes, and I have Dave Lindsay's name attached to the build in some way. Maybe the build was in Socal, at some contest on the LeftCoast?
