VW Dave Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 The local 'Cruise Out' show we like to attend was this past weekend. Lotsa pics, so it took longer than normal to add captions & put them up. Enjoy! http://public.fotki.com/VWDave/car_shows__...ruise_out_2006/ And here's my favorite 'after show' runway pic of my Manx and my friends' Beetle:
Lyle Willits Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Dave, thanks for the great pics. It's nice to see someone photo the cars from various angles and actually get the entire car framed in the picture.
oldcars Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 VW Dave, Thank you for the tour. The pictures make me feel like I was really there.
VW Dave Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 Thanks for the kind words, fellas; I'm glad to share any time that I can. 8) Lyle - I do my best to capture the subject just as I've seen it....if I think it looks good, chances are some others here will wanna see it too. In the case of the runway pics, multiple angles ensure that I'll get at least a few 'keepers' out of the lot; we only get that opportunity once a year, so it has to count.
Billy Kingsley Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Dave, are you going to do the Nationals this weekend? It's way way hard to get good photos there, too many cars parked too close togther + the amount of people but it doesn't stop me from trying! Not sure if I will be able to hit the Museaum this time, I want to though to see the John Fitch exhibit. If I can I'll give you a call!
VW Dave Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 No luck on the Nationals this time, Billy; I've got to work both Friday and Saturday....it sucks the event doesn't extend into Sunday, as I've got that one wide open. No rush on the Fitch exhibit either - according to the museum's website, it runs through November 15th
oldcars Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Billy K. If you do the John Fitch could you put it on the site for us? Would love to see some pictures. Hint Hint
Billy Kingsley Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Bummer Dave, there's no other Manxes in sight, at least not today. If you get here by Noon on Sunday you'll still see a few... Richard, I will! Even if I don't post them, you can always find them in my Real Cars section on my Fotki, found in my signature!
VW Dave Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 Billy K. If you do the John Fitch could you put it on the site for us? Would love to see some pictures. Hint Hint Richard - While at a museum event last month, I shot a few pics in the museum's main exhibit hall....maybe these can tide you over until either myself or Billy can get more. http://public.fotki.com/VWDave/saratoga_au...tch_collection/ Sneaky peeky:
Lyle Willits Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Historic Racing Miniatures has produced a dead-on accurate, completely fully detailed resin kit of that car. The photo is an INCOMPLETE mockup of the model from back in April. Kit comes with the decals to do any of the 3 cars.
oldcars Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Thanks guys. Back in the 60's I had a Corvair Monza with a bunch of Fitch racing parts on it. It was white with red interior. Used to watch Jonh Fitch race at VIR back in the late 50's and early 60's. Kind of miss the days. 8)
