well i let the cats out of my bag so i guess its time to show what i have in the makings

I'm glad that you liked it! I'm always a bit skeptical about adding pictures of my stuff to other people’s posts. Sometimes the post gets hijacked and moves off in some other direction when you do that…

It's funny seeing the difference in approaches you and I took in integrating the Vette chassis...I used the chassis from two Z06 Vettes to get mine stretched to meet the wheelbase length of the original truck and you shortened the body on yours. I think that for the roadster look you're going for, shortening the body was absolutely the right approach. It looks awesome!!

Mine was painted with Testors 2 part spray can lacquer (Italian Red and clear).

What color interior are you going to use? I really like the Testors fabric tan with this shade of red, but I used gray to match the '50 Chevy pickup that I had done in a ZR-1 theme several years earlier.

I like your tribute '68 Bullitt

Brings back lots of memories man.

In Dec. 1966, I took delivery of a brand new Forest Green 1967 390 Hi Pro mustang fastback.

It was factory rated at 325 HP, but was dyno'd right at 400.

After the Hooker headers and dumping the FOMOCO 600 cfm carb for a Holley 750, it dyno'd at nearly 425 HP. It was a fun screamer.

Those were the days of street racing, and cruizin' "E" street and the original McDonald'd in San Bernardino, calif., close to you.

I grew up in San Berdoo, in the 40's thru the late 70's and used to date a few girls from Fontana.

Fun memories.

Hey evil, you got some neat projects going on! I like the Bullit Mustang, nice color you got there. Are you going to add the side scoops later? 'Cus it looks like the AMT Shelby GT 500 body.... that's a mean machine!

Dave, it must have been cool to grow up in those days, eh? I wish we could have stayed longer in "'Dago"...... :)

Yup, those were the days. Street racin' and ridin' motorcycles with my buddies. But ya know, these are the good ol'days too. Still livin' and lovin' life and plastic.

yup im going to add the scoops on it but right now im tryin to figure out if im going to put a scoop on the hood or just raise the engine

Nope. Never did race 66.

Raced up and down "E" street a lot, the main cruiz. Didn't have racing laws back then. They had to write um cuz of us :D:P .

South San Berdoo between the i5 freeway and the Riverside freeway was where we went for SERIOUS RACIN". Probably not even there anymore.

We were all a buncha speed freaks back then, and hoarse power junkies. My first car was a '50 Merc that I put a early Chrysler Hemi in with dual quads. No big deal back then. Every guy and his brother had a racer of some kind. It was just what we did in the late 50's early 60's.

all you had to do was have a "hot"car and you would have a "HOT" girl on your arm by night fall

now a days if your wallet isnt fat then your going home alone

It was true, but I never understood it :) .

If ya had a hot car, the wimmen were all over ya like "stink on a skunk" :):)

Guess ya didn't have to figure it out, just enjoy it :)

IDK eather

i guess they were the type of girls that i so wouldnt mind having

the type that would fix a car by 12 noon,cook lunch,and keep a guy happy (by not arguing) (see you all thought i went dirty huh..................now dont you lie i know what you think everyday all day)

god try to find one of those type of girls now a days now thats truly a mission impossable

good news i might start the pete in a few days got a buddy that has one and wants to do a build off

time to get the cutting wheels,xactos,and a spool of thread and get down on this beast finally :)
