I'd set off to build the Monogram LUV yesterday , but was almost immediately stopped in my tracks .

I was configuring the cab back panel ; test-fitting it before tacking it in-place with CA glue . Then it hit me : Check the fitment of the backlight before gluing the panel in !

Glad that I did , as the backlight doesn't fit in its recessed mounting area !

I scraped , filed , etc. , the recessed area to make certain that there weren't any buggers to hinder its fitment . Then I dry-fitted the backlight , and it was a no-go . I carefully filed and sanded the top of the backlight , and the stupid thing still didn't want to fit properly .

Anyone else encounter this issue ? If so , how did you rectify the fitment issue ?

I dont remember any issues with mine, but since I was dealing with brittle plastic that didnt want to take glue, I could've forgotten.

That plastic is definitely nothing I've ever worked with before . It's an odd combination of rubbery and fragile ! Obviously , the kit can be built , as witnessed by the handful of samples I've seen . I put the kit away until I can figure what to do with that backlight --- maybe a "roll your own" from Evergreen Clear is in order...
