Old Coyote Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 ... what I would have given to see these two square off against one another ..... but, alas, it was never to be 1
gtx6970 Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 Nice, Them boys always had some nice looking cars, no matter the class they ran in
sflam123 Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 Beautiful builds!! Just fantastic. As an aside, I was devastated when "Zookeeper" made his last pass in 1969.
slusher Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 (edited) Absolutely beautiful pair! Edited October 24, 2020 by slusher

Hmann68 Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 Both look great! I’ve got the California Charger in the stash, if I ever get to it I hope it turns out as nice as yours ?
Deuces ll Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Very nice pair!!!!.... ?? I'm wondering if Revell ever molded these 2 kits in 1/16 scale..??... ?

I'm wondering if Revell ever molded these 2 kits in 1/16 scale..??... ? Yes, Revell molded both these cars in 1/16th. However, both had substantial inaccuracies. The Fighting Irish kit had incorrect body panels, and the K&C kit had rear wheels that were only run once. It's ironic, my K&C build used a Fighting Irish kit as a basis and the California Charger started with a Fighting Irish kit. Both builds used Competition Resin body parts and the Irish used Comp Resins rear wheels, valve covers, injector, and scoop. Both builds had the magnetos relocated to the rear of the block to simulate "392" blocks. Edited November 12, 2020 by Old Coyote
Claude Thibodeau Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Hi John! What a beautifull combo. World class finish, bravo! Is-it me, or dragsters were more gracious back then? They belong in a gallery, really! CT

Yes, both were available in 1/16 scale from Revell. Both still occasionally available if you are willing to search for them and pay the $$$.
Deuces ll Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 The only 1/16 rail kit I have is the Tony Nancy version.... Got it the last time it was released.... Maybe 20 years ago...??...
