ZIL 111V Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Does the spoke wheels "scale" radius in the L700 kit more 22" than 20"? Ex IMC GY tires says 20", Amt's good' ol GY also are 20"s but the L700 spokes dont fit in amt's GY tires..........but get in perfectly in Amt's Uniroyal 22" Correct engine color seems to be red...this shade available in Duplicolor cans?

Those tires made me go HMMMM.I would like to put uniroyals on mine but don't have enough of them.I don't know the hight of the real thing, but the dodge tires remind me of the low profile tires used on trailers.I had some model master bottle paint in the "dodge engine red"shade, but I got to get more as I couldn't find when I was ready to paint engine and have not got more.Don't know about any spray colour that is close,Its kinda a medium dark red.I saw an autocar on another forum with the dodge spokes-looked like they belonged on it.
Scott H. Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I don't have an answer for your question, but the wheel size has bothered me on the kit for some reason. I'm seriously thinking of modernizing mine when I get around to building it with some parts box or after market wheels to make it look better to me. If you want to keep the spokes but use the AMT tires, check the old Mack R series of trucks. They had them in the kits I had a while back and weren't bad looking if I remember right. Hope this helps, -Scott H.
mackinac359 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 When THC contracted with Testors for a limited run of the trailers in the 90s, they used the Italeri 1/24th tires and they fit perfectly. I'll bet they fit the Dodge too, but might be a bit tall. Tim

Tim Are those made of rubber?I have a tanker from the 90's reissue but the box is long gone so I don't know who produced it.I forgot about it in my first reply.I just put a uniroyal on the front end of my dodge for the heck of it,I don't realy like the look of it -too tall.
