Everything about this build is legit. Like a time capsule!

Love this thread and all the excellent eye candy posted.  I guess I'll throw the ones I've built into the mix.  I really need to get cracking on those Moebius Plymouths lurking in the stash that keep staring at me.

There actually was an altered wheelbase car from Portland OR called The Gunfighter,

It was my inspiration for this build.photo(30).jpg.0f97b9ab7c52a10a7d47f385f844f47e.jpgphoto(24).jpg.fae76190cc081c95099417080750859b.jpgphoto(25).jpg.0e36a01555249af618edaebbaedaa5ca.jpg

That's awesome!

With the release of the new AMT Time Machine Chevelle, an enterprising modeler can make the hard to find Olds F-85 funny car.  The Chevelle and Olds share the same chassis (the interior tub is a pinch wider than the Chevy II version).  You have to alter the Olds convertible wheelbase to fit the chassis.

This is an original (restoration?), but not completely out of box.  Front wheels are wrong for this.

I can't get enough of these Moebius altered wheelbase kits.  This is one of my favorite match race cars, the Fenner Tubbs Plymouth.  This one is supercharged with the engine moved back 8 inches.

I wasn't sure whether to start a new thread or continue with this one.  I have completed my first 65 Dodge Coronet from the Moebius kit.  This one is pretty much box stock and this kit is very nice to work with.  So, here it is, the Virginia Twister.

Wow Jeff! You don’t waste any time working on a new release! Very nice job and good to hear this new Moebius kit builds as nice as their Plymouths. I’ve only seen pics online of the “Virginia Twister” as an AWB A990 sedan, did Warren also have an AWB HT like a lot of the teams back then? Looking forward to seeing more of these new ‘65 Dodge kits built and posted soon using some of excellent decal sets out there and hope to build and post a few myself soon (Landy’s, Mr Norm’s supercharged match racer,….). Thanks for posting!

Wow this is really sharp great job on the testors lacquer . This is the first one I’ve seen done. It looks like another great kit . I need to get a stack of these.

There were a bunch of Gunfighters, here  is one at a funny car race in (I think), 1967.I was there! Run by Gary Coe, power by 289 Ford with Hillborn injection.

He ran several cars over the years, all of them Gunfighter.

The Mr. Norm's Grand-Spaulding Dodge match racer is finished.  The departures from the stock Moebius kit are the intake manifold, blower and injector from the Atlantis Fiat kit, the magneto and fuel pump from the Cosmic Charger, the headers from a Polar Lights funny car and a moon tank from the parts box.  I flipped the spindles to get the nose lower, but it isn't quite enough to the actual car.  The Landy car will be a while and I am just starting on build number 4.

Hadn't planned on finishing this one today, but couldn't sleep this morning and got an early start.  This one is pretty much box stock with the carbs and cross ram.  The decals were an OLD set of Johan decals.  I have another complete set if anyone would like to build something similar.  Actually got some work done on the Landy car today.

I have finally finished the 1965 Landy's Dodge.  I took some creative deviations from the original in the paint with the two black and silver and the Automotive Research lettering.  I went with a set of wrinkle wall slicks I had in the parts box and put a set of Cragars on them like Landy did when running the wrinkle walls.  I am posting this on it's own thread as well.
