DRIPTROIT 71
This one is built on an extended Revell W900 Wrecker Chassis. It has a Gary Wallace T800 Cab and hood conversion, Gary Wallace front suspension and cab mount kit, Gary Wallace Dump Bed kit, M11 Cummins from Gary, and one of the lift axles is from Gary. The other lift axle is from Jamie at Moluminum. The battery box is from Casey at model truck builders.com. The wheels and tires are from Moebius, except for the low profile tires on the lift axles which are solid resin from an unknown source. The rubber block rear suspension is from Clint Freeman. Paint is Scalecoat 1 “reefer orange.” It is not perfect, but pretty happy with it. It is meant to reflect a recently restored owner operator rig that mostly hauls asphalt. Mopar - D
Excellent build Brian I enjoyed watching your WIP. Your weathering affect is just enough for the look of a well maintained truck.
vincen47
What a great build! I was a fan from the start, enjoyed following the progress. So much to like, but I’d have to say the asphalt stain/weathering in the back is my favorite aspect. Very convincing.

kilrathy10
Oh YeeeaaaHH!!!! That came out good, Bro!!! I, of course, really dig the color choice!!! ? Wonderful!!!! I can't get over how good those Moebius wheels and tires look....Just too beautiful... I really like all the subtle weathering on the dump body, and the dump body, itself is just amazing... Great job on the interior, as well.... You did an awesome job on this one... Top shelf material... The asphalt stains looked better under my desk light inside, but outside, the sunlight seemed to hide most of my chalk work. On 1/27/2021 at 8:31 PM, Flynlo said: Great Build ! Thanks for sharing. Kromolly
Fantastic looking truck, and the residual asphalt at the end of the box looks great to me. I love the HD truck builds. A local company builds a "Super Dump"; tandem axle, three drop axles and a tag axle. One of these would make a good subject. Warren D
Very well done. Is Gary making the dump bodies again?

It looks like you'll have to click "Super Dumps" at the top right hand of the page. The link doesn't go directly to that page for some reason. The pictures aren't great for detail. If anyone is interested in better photos of these Super Dumps, I can probably get some and post them.

Venom
My first time on here looking at big trucks- I’m always in the cars. Man, this thing really is cool I must say! Great paint, and details...it looks very real, I love the careful balance of weathering and cleanness. Super!! -I am interested in knowing how you got the mottled wood effect on the dash and steering wheel ???

Super!! -I am interested in knowing how you got the mottled wood effect on the dash and steering wheel ??? Thanks! What I do may not be the best way, but I paint everything flat black first. Then I use a thin wash of brown, usually Testors leather. I let the black bleed through in areas. It works pretty well on molded wood grain like the dashboard.
