Schumacher330 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I'm wanting to build a semi high detailed 69 Chevelle using the AMT kit but I want to build as the car I want. So what do you guys recommend for: 1. I want to use the Olds 442 chassis under it. Any problems? 2. Which is the best LS style engine or one that would work best? I've got one of the C5 Vette kits but if there is a better one I'd like to use that. 3 Best T-56 tranny? 4. Any kit have a nice smaller Master Cylinder? This kit doesn't have one and well that's just silly. As you can probably guess this is going to be a pro touring car and any help or ideas are welcomed. Thanks guys!
Lyle Willits Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I agree with Steve on the chassis. I use the AMT '69 Olds 442 chassis under every 68'-'72 Chevelle I build. I also use the cowl/ firewall, inner fender wells andd radiator wall from the Olds kit. A nice small master cylinder can be found in a Revell '32 Ford st.rod kit.
Schumacher330 Posted September 17, 2006 Author Posted September 17, 2006 Thanks guys. Big Lots had a bunch of the 442 kits on sale not to long ago and I stocked up on those. I wish some one would come out with a nice Chevelle done with modern tooling but until that happens we'll keep plugging away.
