oldscool
I recently bought the newly rereleased 66 Wildcat and notice that the engine is a different tooling from the one in the original 66 Riviera that I have in the stash. Why would they go to the trouble to do two different versions of the same engine for the same year?
Mark
When those kits were first produced (late 1965) they were probably both in production at the same time. So each would have its own engine. Back then it was probably cheaper and easier to do things that way.
Deuces ll
I believe the AMT '66 Riv is based on newer tooling....

The Riviera that was released in 1999-2000 is a new tool. They also had a 1966 annual when the car was new, which continued through 1969, and still exists as the '69. Charlie Larkin The Rivieras had their own engines from 1963-'65, as well, from what I've been able to tell, based on my examination of the early 1960s full-size Buicks and the 1963 and '65 Rivieras I have.....I should really finish up that '63.
