Does anyone know what alloy Ertl used in their 1946 Dodge power wagon models? I have disassembled mine and am in the process of removing the screw bosses. The alloy is incredibly hard- more like tool steel than diecast alloy!

I ran across a similar hard alloy when trying to disassemble a diecast '67 Chevelle. I ended up using a Dremel cutoff disk as a grinding wheel to remove them. The Dremel grinders either didn't work at all or worked much too slowly, I forget which, but the cutoff disk did the trick. Eye protection is mandatory with these, as they do occasionally break and fling off fragments at high speed.
