Ouch. It was coming along so nicely. Relax. Take a deep breath and regroup. And as said if you hit a snag step back and come back to it.

I believe the issue was with the interior. The instructions show the interior going into the body first. That how I did the one I built a while back.

Second always test fit the parts. The way the interior goes together its a tight fit and any misalignment could impair the interior fit. Experience has taught me to do multiple test fits during the assembly process. Regardless of doing a box stock build or a kit bash.

Unfortunately I think that this has happened to all of us. The trick is learning from the experience and avoid making that mistake again.

I really feel for you Bob and I hope you can recover it.

Thanks Carl.  Wife and I took our 1949 Chevy pickup 1:1 to a car show yesterday about an hour from home and we won two trophys.  One for Majors choice and one for best of show.  It's got me in a good mood so I'm getting on the 41 Willy's this morning.

Congratulations!

Awesome looking truck! It must feel great to be recognized for that.

Thanks Dave.  We don't really go for the trophys but it's nice when you win one, or two.  We like the Hot Rod seen, all the cars/trucks, and swapping lies with other fellows.

What a disappointment to have such a set back after all the nice work you've done!  Body fit and wheels fitting on axles seem to be the bane of my modeling existence.  I'm not quite sure what to do about struggling with body fitment except I need a ton of patience.  I have concluded that I need to drill out wheels and glue them in place rather than the press fit that so often frustrates.    I enjoy your WIP's, always informative.

This is a great kit and takes very little detailing to make it really outstanding. When I built mine I did it mostly as an OOB. For paint I used Tamiya Gold Mt. for the base and Tamiya Candy Red along with Clear after the decals were applied. I used the red tinted windows from the kit and I also shaped some thin clear plastic in the shape of the side windows. These were cut down to have the passenger side window up and the drivers window just partially up and I sprayed the side windows with a light coat of the Candy Red to look like Red tinted Lexan.  The kit includes either a plastic or a photo etched Grill which is what I used.
