Shambles Posted July 23, 2021 Posted July 23, 2021 Hi yall. I ain't been on here in a while but we're back to 100º afternoons down here in FL, so I've been working on a new salvage yard diorama. Here's one angle of where I am presently...
Shambles Posted July 23, 2021 Author Posted July 23, 2021 (edited) Here's a Chevelle wreck in progress that will be added to the salvage yard soon... just a few more details. This was a decently built model I found on eBay. It was coming apart, but all there and priced right. When I took it apart to begin wrecking it, I noticed that it had been built from two kits.... one red, one blue. Edited November 9, 2022 by Shambles Add photos
slusher Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Real nice start. Chevelle looks like a real wreck..
TarheelRick Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Believable wreck. Are you planning on buckling the top, that kind of damage would have put a pretty good kink in the roof sheetmetal. Model on and show us more of your amazing work.
Beans Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 The collision damage looks great!! Love the way it all makes sense and isn't just random damage. My only thoughts, FWIW, are the interior needs a little bit. If anyone or anything was in the back seat they would have slammed the front seats pretty hard. Also a missing or disassembled interior parts would not look out of place. Just some ideas.
wrenchr Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Just a suggestion, not all cars in the boneyard are wrecks. Maybe some later model stripped down cars / trucks?
IMPALA SS 427 Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Great work on the body damage, very realistic.
