Toast
First time building a drag car. I had a Castrol Funny Car kit that I wasn't really feeling but the engine was perfect to spice this build up. I'm just mocking it up and not sure how much of the engine to show through the hood. The more cool engine bits are seen the more I have to make the rest of the underhood look functional. I really like the big coils on the front of the engine but would it be weird to cut an odd shape hole to fit tight around just the engine that sits above the hood?

chris chabre
I like it! "odd" shaped holes in the hood are common place.

espo
I agree with Chris, "just round off the corners" give it sort of an organic shape.

David G.
That works nicely. It'll look great when you smooth it all in. In case you didn't already know, Round 2 is releasing a "Surf Shark" variant of the Ecto 1-A Here's a link to the video, the Surf Shark is featured at about the 4 minute mark. David G. Toast
Plugging away at this ghost busting hot rod! Cut out this body detail to be relocated later. Then used some new bench tools to open up the rear quarters for the big drag tires. Never cut tire openings before. It's far from perfect but it's something I can work with. Need to adjust the ride height but she has the basic stance. Trying to keep the transformation simple but I'm getting fun ideas along the way. Also, my daughter has jumped on board and added more work to this project. ?

Toast
Slowly plugging away at this build still. I wasn't thrilled with the way the rear wheel openings looked. But luckily my daughter lost interest in her Ecto-1 she was building. So it donated its rear fenders and this Ecto-1 has some wide hips to hold the big drag tires. After a good amount of putty, sanding, filler primer, and re-scribing door lines, it got a coat of sealer and white paint!
David G.
It's cool the way you worked the fender flares in Ryan. This thing will be a beast when it's done. David G.

Toast
The kit has decals for the red but only for one side of the fins so I masked and painted them. Worked out I have a Mustang that needed some red paint as well so made progress on two kits last night. Now time for decals, clear, and a bunch of chrome!

NYLIBUD
Very cool build so far.Reminds me of an old kit i did by making a Lincoln stretch Town Car limo pro street.Too bad one of my cats flicked it off the top of my shelf, rendering the model “destroyed”,for lack of a better word.
