arick Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Thought you might be interested in something different so am posting pictures of my in progress 8th scale Willys roadster. The body started out as a fiberglass coupe and my first modification was to remove the top and lean back the windshield. I've taken a "wedge" out of the body by dropping the beltline at the door tops and sectioning the cowl. I've also taken a wedge out of the hood so that it follows the body line forward. The hood sides, front and rear fenders have been molded to the body and the belt line below the doors has been removed. The doors will be reshaped later. The cockpit is under construction and so far I've molded in the entire top of the cockpit and added a wraparound dash. I'm currently building the interior tub. Future body modifications include laid back Jag headlights. The chassis will be a Morrison style with IFS/IRS. I have several powertrain options in mind, including a Hemi, a Cosworth V8 with transaxel or a Ferarri with tranaxel. I have each one and they all look cool under the hood.

arick Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) WOW!! B E A UTIFUL!!!!!!!! IS WHAT COMES TO MIND!!!!! SWEET BUILD Thanks for the comment! I've cut out the stock headlight buckets and I'll be molding in a pair of laid back Jag headlights. I'm also going to remove the top of the front fenders so they will "flow" into the Jag headlights. I'm also going to remove the top of the front fenders so they will "flow" into the Jag headlights. Here's an update on my 8th scale Willys projects. The bodywork on the roadster is just about done. I started with an 8th scale fibreglass coupe and cut off the roof and enlarged the cockpit. The front and rear fenders are molded to the body, the cowl is sectioned, the windshield frame is chopped and laid back and the hood has been pancaked and wedge cut. I molded in Jag headlight buckets but I'm not happy with them so will probably go with laid back stock buckets. The second project is going to be a Willys woody. Again I cut up a glass 8th scale body, ending up with everything from the cowl forward. So far, I've removed the crown on the fenders and molded in and laid back the headlights. Next up will be a section of the cowl, wedge cut out of the hood and a chop and lay back of the windshield. The body will be scratchbuilt useing the stock rear fenders. Rick
