Robert81 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Like it or lump it, this is how I like to build. My woodie. lol This I what I started with. AMT's 41 Woody Stock. I'm adding the 56 Y-block, with the rare 57 Factory Paxton supercharger. The AMT 49 Merc is donating it's frenched headlights. He is getting a nose job and a Shave ;D . As well as losing the bumpers. Here is the first mock up. after a little work to get it lowered and trim the bumper. The rims come chrome, with chrome Ford caps. I'm thinking of leaving them chrome, without the caps.
Robert81 Posted December 21, 2008 Author Posted December 21, 2008 first update. Test fitting the engine. Looks like it will fit nicely, though the inner fenders will stay in the box, or clearance for the supercharger on the passenger side. I started on shaving the trim, driver side is done. A little hard to see in the pictures. Passenger side for comparison.
Robert81 Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 The progress has been slow. Tomorrow I'll get some paint on him. I decided that the exhaust from the amt 32 5 window deuce, would work well. they sit a little low, but once i glue them to the engine and chassis, they should fit nicely.
Allen H Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Robert, this is gonna be sharp, I like the look. One question- Where did you find the Paxton supercharger?
CB Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Thanks for the inspiration Robert, with your 96 hour builds. I'm getting closer to trying one myself, but it's probably gonna take me almost 96 hours to decide which one to pick from my stash to do.
Robert81 Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) Allen, I found the Paxton supercharger in the AMT 57 Ford Fairlane, It is a rare factory option, Ford put on a handful of t-birds to run speed trials on Daytona breach in 57. CP, 96 hour builds are not hard, you just need to have some time off, and to remember the K.I.S.S. rule. Keep It Simple Stupid I've been working at my skills in small steps. I have worked myself up from AMT's 32 5 window deuce, in June to a AMT 55 Bel air, in July I've only missed the one in August, for reasons out of my control. to a Revell 41 Chevy pickup, in September To a AMT 57 Chrysler 300c, in October And finally, a Lindberg 34 Ford pickup, in November. CB Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) Time off...??!! TIME OFF??!! Dude, I retired 2 years ago, and have steadily gone more and more gonzo insane ever since, with all the TIME OFF I gots!!! I aint complaining, just trying to deal with my 'issues' like being addicted to eyeballing all the cool stuff on the forum here, instead of sniffing glue (the good stuff, not that orange juice) and doing bodyworks. Thanks for laying it out--- one model a month, and I'm not sure if'n there's a pattern there or not........ FORD, CHEBBY, take a break, CHEBBY, MOPAR, FORD, and repeat. I'll have to do an inventory of my stash and see if'n I can follow that. Love that '41 (think I got one too) and that '57... Edited December 23, 2008 by CB
