RDean58 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Started way back in 95 or so. I've decide to get this one done next year. Painted duplia-color 70's GM green (I forget the name) I'm using some pre-painted stuff from another Monte kit to finish it up. At first I thought it was sitting kinda high, but after looking at some pics of the real ones, I don't think so. Talk about ground clearance! Interior will be green flocking for carpet, white seats & door panels, and a black dash. Thanks
ricky12 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 lookin great looking forward to seeing it done . And would love the paint code if you could find it ?
Darrell Gwinn Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 That is my favorite color on those Montes. Looks good!
Chas SCR Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 If you like any more ref, pic's let me know I have a 72 Numbers matching Monte sitting here in the shop. I bought it back in 2000 and restored it from ground up. I also seen your early pics with the skirts. Not knowing if you are going with the big block or not, but the skirts only came on what they called the Cali car 350, 2bbl car. Also on the stance it looks great but remember 90% of the photos you see on the net of the real one's the tires have ben changed. This car also only came with 14inch rims and was one of the first things the new owners changed.

But on the higher model cars they usually came with ralleys(like what are on this model) and these usually came from 16 up. On the color alot of gm guys like to call it babby poo green, it looks great so far and with that color combo its gona really stand out.
Chas SCR Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Emo there was never a 16 or higher on this car as its hard enuff to get the tires off with 15s. Steve I have never seen that info before but the paper work I do have is from the GM Historical Library, I had to use the vin number to send in and get all the info on my car and also they send you what was order and optional on all the other cars. But again the paper work shows the production numbers and release for the 72 Model year, It show 0 For any thing with skirts that was put on with any thing bigger then the west coast car. The green you are trying to think of is called GM Met Green.
MyBradKeselowski Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 looks very good it is at the right stance, it will be a very nice build when finished can't wait 2 C it.
