Roadkill2525 Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 All little about the Nissan Cefiro A31 first... The intermediate sedan built from September 1988 to May 1994, it shared the same chassis with the C33 Laurel and R32 Skyline. It came with several version of the RB engine including the intercooled turbo RB20DET minus the re-circulating blow-off valve. The 2WD model shared the MacPherson strut from the S13 Silvia while the 4WD had the same front and rear suspension of the GT-R and GTS4 Skyline. Future genrations of the Cefiro became FWD while the Laurel and Skyline continued on as RWD, this made the A31 a popular car for drifting by being relatively cheap and gained cult status in Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, and Austrialia. This leads to my build of the Aoshima Cefiro A31 from the Drift Machine series. A basic curbside kit, the chassis doesn't stand out in detail and the interior is nicely done but the stock front seat don't have a back and must be filled in. Im going for a bright yellow, carbon fibre hood, and maybe some subtle graphic. Box Contents The wheels are SSR Formula Mesh
jbwelda Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 nice informative write up mike, keep posting pics of your progress. as fortold by Nostradamus...
Roadkill2525 Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 Here's the basis for the colour. Im using Pactra Fluoresence Racing Yellow for that "pay attention to me!" look.
Nick F40 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Oooooo, now this is a car I like that you never see built or in the drifting circuit, rarely. This ought to be good, good color. Not a bad drift. Dave, those are my kinds of vehicles Isn't that what they all did?
Roadkill2525 Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 It comes with an old or period NISMO decal. (See picture 1) Picture 1 Im going to claim that a post-'92 RB26DETT engine was dropped into a RWD Cefiro by NISMO.
Roadkill2525 Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 Interior is ready for some paint, Im using Polly Scale NATO Tri. Brown but haven't decided on a accent colour. Front seats will be matching with either a aluminium or carbon fiber back.
