wayne00 Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 The instructions show two I beam frame rails that install in front of the rear bogie. My kit doesn’t have these pieces. Is this an oversight by the company or were these removed for the later issues of the kit? Thanks Rog?
Jim B Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 (edited) Which kit? AMT has a lot of semi-trailers. Are you talking about the old IMC trailer? Edited March 12, 2022 by Jim B

wayne00 Posted March 13, 2022 Author Posted March 13, 2022 Here is a picture of the instructions with the parts indicated. Rog?
Jim B Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 I have the latest issue of the kit like you, so I went into the stash & checked. the I-beams (Parts 29 & 30) were in my kit. They were on a separate sprue in the big bag (if that makes any sense), so they should be in your kit. If you can't find them, I'd contact Round2 to see if you can get replacement parts; or you can ask in the "Wanted" section if someone has them & didn't use them when they built the Compact City Van version. Good luck.
wayne00 Posted March 13, 2022 Author Posted March 13, 2022 (edited) Thanks for the info!! I have a bunch of other open kits, maybe they ended up in one of them. If not, I will probably just grab some I beam stock and make my own. Rog? Edited March 13, 2022 by wayne00 Content

I am pretty sure that IMC just took their flatbed trailer and added sides and a roof to make their box van trailer and that is why those rails are there. I don’t think that you would be wrong or inaccurate to just leave them off.
stavanzer Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 It looks like those rail form a structural support for the two flatbed floor pieces.
OldTrucker Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 You don't need them for the box trailer. I believe this kit built to full length is supposed to represent a 1960's Freuhauf 36' exterior post trailer.
