kenlwest Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 (edited) Anyone who says that snap kits are easy, they haven't built this one. But it's the only kit in this scale, so I gave it my best shot. Too many issues to list, but here is what I did to try and mitigate them. All of the glass is molded in 1 piece, and when placed in the body, the windshield looked like it was 5 inches thick. I separated, filed, sanded, fitted, and edge painted. The decals were as thin as gold leaf on a candy wrapper, and immediately disintegrated in water. The decals you see on the model were printed and glued over the paint. The clear lenses over the fog and headlights were too big, and the headlamp buckets didn't fit without using an arbor press to install them. Many detail inaccuracies. Having said all that, I am happy with how it turned out. If I were to do this one again, I am sure it would come out better, knowing what to watch out for. Hope you like it! Miatatom Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Sounds like you went through quite an ordeal but the results are great looking.
cobraman Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 I agree, despite your problems it turned out good.
vamach1 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Makes me want to build mine. ? Or maybe just get a nice diecast. Nice job despite the problems. I think it was a quick effort by the model company to get one out there first and no one else did a better version.
Gramps46 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 That is a good-looking model. Glad you were able to preserver and share it with usl
