Dr. Cranky Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 I'm also working on the rolling chassis . . . the tires and wheels are done . . .
Dr. Cranky Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 Oh yeah, I remember that line: WHY SO SERIOUS?
Harry P. Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 If the pattern on the seats is supposed to be skulls and bones, I don't see it... Is it like a Rorschach test? ...'cuz I'm not getting it!
Dr. Cranky Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 Harry, perhaps the template was a bit larger for this scale. Here's one of the pics from a different angle. Look closely for human skulls on the front seat. I think they are easier to spot in person . . . although unfortunately once the interior goes into the body, nobody will be able to see a darn thing.
MikeMc Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 If the pattern on the seats is supposed to be skulls and bones, I don't see it... Is it like a Rorschach test? ...'cuz I'm not getting it! WE SEE IT HARRY...............DON'T YOU?????????
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 Stay tuned in for some new progress pics . . . all I have left to do on this sucker is finish the engine and drop it in . . .
Harry P. Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Maybe I'm taking the wrong kind of acid... cuz I still don't see it. Hey V... I'll just take your word for it that there are skulls and bones there...
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 Well, Harry, I hope you WILL see the skull shifter with the jester cap on! Jim "Hollywood" Fernandez just gave me the idea . . . It's an extreme closeup, but here's a better picture . . .
evilone Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 WOW is this going to be at the NNL West?If so i quit.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 Nah, Evilone, it won't be there . . .
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 I'm mocking up the chassis with the body (without the engine) just to get a feel for what this thing is going to look like, and I think so far so good! Here's my favorite shot:
Harry P. Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 The shifter I see. The skulls on the seats... not so much... I think I see ONE... if I squint...
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 Don't squint too hard or you might get cross-eyed, or worse, you might start seeing Unicorns.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 I got the tail lights done and installed . . . I think this is all the progress for today. Tomorrow is another day . . . Here's a beauty shot . . . I can't wait to finish the engine and get it all in there . . .
Harry P. Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Or even worse, I'll have a hard time laying out any new features for upcoming magazine issues...
evilone Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Nah, Evilone, it won't be there . . . You still got me a little bugged out now.LOL
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 Harry, keep your eyes rested. You need to see clearly now. Evilone, this vehicle will probably make its public debut at the BAMA show in March, and from there it might go on up to the NNL East.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 Here are some more pics with the right details in the interior . . . I'd love to have a yellow rubber ducky somewhere on those seats, but you can't have everything, right? Gee, I hope the colors are right on that hat!!! I guess the Joker likes violence & PLAYBOY!!!
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) Some last minute graphic details and now it is on to the engine and wrapping this one up! Edited January 19, 2009 by DamnCranky
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 Progress update: I got all the engine parts painted and they are drying so that I can start assembling the engine shortly. In the meantime, I put some final touches to the back of the vehicle, and retouched the red eyes on the skull. I need to paint those little raybeam spikes around the skull in green.
Harry P. Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Where do you get all the interior junk... the bottles, boxes, etc.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 That's a great question, Harry. Some of the stuff I make, and some of it I trade for. I also have a lifetime supply of watch parts that several years ago I got on Ebay. Those things have paid for themselves many times over . . . Stay tuned in for some engine progress. I have it all done and ready to go!
