Anybody know what happened to the Renwall Revivals moulds?

Did Revell acquire them originally along with other Renwall moulds and it so, were they sold on to someone else like Atlantis?

Revell probably got them (IF they still existed) when they bought out Renwal in the late Seventies.

Big "if", though, as those kits were sales duds when they were available.  Someone no longer here once remarked that one of the bigger wholesalers had cartons of unsold kits well into the Eighties.  Renwal could well have scrapped those tools to get them "off the books" at some point.

This one comes up again. Ive been lusting for the Renwal Revival kits even since I found out about them in the early 70’s. Too late to easily fine them anyplace I had access to. In fact, I’ve never seen one is the flesh, as they say. I’d love to see these kits come back some day. I’d buy all seven if they were available. But I’m not holding my breath on that ever happening. Some of Virgil Exner best designs IMO.

Strange that Exner didn't try a '66 Cord.  But truth is stranger than fiction; if you think about it, GM did just that...the Olds Toronado.

And the Packard...only eight years earlier there still was a Packard, basically an upmarket Studebaker.  The best Studebaker they were building at that time, but as a Packard it was...a Studebaker.

I guess that they have all long gone.

Maybe some resin caster might see the cult following of these kits and do copies, or maybe scan them to make 3D printed parts?

A guy in Australia did resins of the old Monogram Uncertain T and made moulds using original kit parts as patterns.

I just saw these pics on a Facebook Forum for vintage slot cars.

Although technically slot cars I feel they are relevant to this topic.

Until I saw these pic this morning I did not know these ever existed.

From back when almost everybody that made model cars had a line of slot cars. Completely forgot about Renwal.

Were there pics of the underside?
