E St. Kruiser50 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) Hi all This seems to be the year to crank out some old idea's that have been "Smoldering" for awhile in the back of my ol' thinker Spent two days gettin' this 'ol girl shaped up and primered, ready for the next step. There'll be a stretched '05 Vette chassis with all the 'Vette running gear, a stretched '05 four seat Corvette interior, and a flip forward hood, late "Vette" style. FUN Got a couple of real nice '55 diecast's that I parted out, with some beautiful trim and emblems that will help the appeal hopefully on this - if I do it right Rounded the top of the front fenders and door's from the headlight's to the "Dip" behind the doors ala Chezoom, to get rid of that "flat look", and fit in with the 'Vette windshield. I also lowered the front of the hood to put it on a bit of a rake to match the fender shape and make the appearance a little "Swoopy" - I Love the swoopy Got some other things to finish before I move on with this one though. Got enough stuff goin' here already on the forum, so later in the year I will get back to this. Just wanted to share it and get some feedback. Any comment's appreciated. Here's some pic's. MikeMc Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 SWEET!!!!!!!!! Could you try a plain background so we can see all the details of this one...all the others get me way too distracted
CB Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Interesting Dave. I do gotta say I can't see it workin', but you do gots that magic goin' on. I guess to me a '55 is a '55 is a '55. Will be interesting to see what you do with it. In the meantime, gotta question--you say you got a couple real nice '55 diecasts that you're gonna use emblems, etc off'n. Is the body we're seeing here a diecast? Just wonderin' coz I got me a 1/18 diecast '58 Chevy conv that I've thought of doing some mods on, and was wonderin' if'n anyone has done any cuttin and puttyin' on a diecast? Had this crazy idea of making it a halftrack conv

Some real nice stuff out there, that's not ever been done in plastic. Putty is putty, and glue is glue. It's all the same, but just a little different have fun - dave

E St. Kruiser50 Posted February 1, 2009 Author Posted February 1, 2009 Playin' hooky today. Takin a break from the "Retro-Vette", to play with a couple other projects, includin' this '55 Vert. Just a little fun on the side . I rounded the top of the front fender's and doors ala Chezoom when I had started this project a few weeks ago, and liked it, so today I decided to round the top's of the rear fenders from the "Dip" to the tail-light's, to match the front and give it a little subtle change, but not be too obvious. Subtilties can make a big difference sometimes without people realizing right away, what it is that has changed. Here's a few pic's
Dr. Cranky Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I love the way it's starting out . . . fresh, shiney putty. Keep it going.

Anyway pretty simple shaping. Only took a few minutes, and then a little primer and "VOILA" - round fender's. Just too fun. Here's a coupla pics. Last one's for a while, asI need to get back on the "Vette".
