ZIL 111V Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Was wondering if any MCM forum member, could give us a review of what's in the box of the early 80's Ex Testors/Lindberg Pete 359 Kit, saw that "rare" kit once or twice back in the early 80's in testors box in local hobby shop....or pop up on ebay. -Curbside kit; no engine/basic frame details/one piece body? (a la Monogram 1/32 tractor series)? -1/20 Scale? -Accurate (seems nice on Lindberg web pic) -Decals?
mackinac359 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 The Lindberg 359 is 1/20th scale. Originally issued as a toy-kit, some reworking has been done to make it a bit less toy. It is curbside. The detail on the cab/hood/sleeper is nice. The mirrors aren't right. The headlights aren't right either. With some scratchbuilding the lights and mirrors could be made more accurate. The ones on the Lindberg site were built box stock. Click Here and scroll about halfway down the page for more photos of the 359s. When the kit is officially released, I want to rework one into a 379. The cab has more of a 379 look to the windshield. The kit has the potential to build a nice Peterbilt. Tim
