TransAmMike Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Cool looking Buick, hmmmm, what color????
ea0863 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Sorry, but there was never a more beautiful color for 60's cars than GM Tahitian Turquoise with white vinyl interior, but hey that's just my two cents worth 2
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 One of my high school friends had a new one in 66 and it was Burgandy. The color always enhanced the lines of the car. 1
Vintage AMT Posted November 9, 2022 Author Posted November 9, 2022 Thanks everyone, some cool colors, I do have some custom mixed burgundy I need to make use of, been thinking about trying a fade style paint job, maybe over black? Oh the agony

Oh the agony Alex, if that's the direction you're thinking, there was a gorgeous car at SEMA this year with a paint job that faded from black on top to cranberry on the bottom. It was subtle and beautiful! 1

Something like this with white interior would look good on the big Buick. 1
Vintage AMT Posted November 9, 2022 Author Posted November 9, 2022 Well. not what I was expecting from a color that appears to be burgundy in the jar!! But its OK. Will get some better pics when my camera charges up.
Vintage AMT Posted November 9, 2022 Author Posted November 9, 2022 (edited) Tried to photograph with my camera, very difficult to get the color to look like it does in person.. Edited November 9, 2022 by Vintage AMT 3
ea0863 Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Nice looking in the photos. It seems to have flecks of different colors. Does it flop depending on the direction you look at it?

Does it flop depending on the direction you look at it? Nope, no flopping I mixed this paint sometime in early 2000, I put all the left over met. paint into one jar mixed with clear gloss. So in person its so dark that it's almost a black/brown till light hits it. 10 minutes ago, Lucius Molchany said: Looks like Rootbeer Metallic paint! That it does...Thanks

Oldcarfan27 Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Leave it, that's a great color! May not be burgundy, but it accentuates the lines and it went on nice. Don't tempt fate! 1

A "parchment" interior with black accents (dash, carpet, parcel shelf) may go very nicely with your custom shade of paint. 1
speedy5963 Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Digging this build, looking good so far!
Lucius Molchany Posted November 16, 2022 Posted November 16, 2022 Very sharp indeed;Back in the seventies our family had a gold 66 Buick Le Sabre 4 door gold hardtop and it was a cool cruiser! 1
Vintage AMT Posted January 30, 2023 Author Posted January 30, 2023 Well, I'm back on this one, and need some input on interior color choices, not really diggin the white, been thinking about some shade of tan/brown... what would you do?? Thanks for looking ...
espo Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 Check some of Tamiya's Military colors. The spray cans have an AS prefix for the part number. They are also available in brush paint as well. The finish is on the flat to semi-gloss side. Offered with several shades of Beige to Brown as well as some interesting Greens and even a Blue. I have used a few of the Beige colors before that may work well with your body color.
