[LL3 Model Worx]

Started this a few days ago... got the kit in a trade a few years ago. Figured I'd try and do it basically box stock... it will be a warm up for another Countach coming up soon.

I started by sawing the lower body panels off the chassis pan and attached them to the body, it made no sense why they were made this way. My chassis pan was warped, so had to heat it and straighten it out. Its basically flat now. 

I scabbed a piece of styrene in the backside so I could keep the panel gap intact.

I've been working on the engine and interior today, I've got most of it in base color... I grabbed Steel Alcad instead of aluminum and didn't realize before I started spraying the engine... but I kinda like the darker appearance, so left it.

I've been adjusting the height of the interior tub because the top bulkhead where the rear glass goes stops the tub from sitting flush to the roof.

I'm thinking on white with white wheels/ red interior for the classic Miami look.

Decanted and laid down some Testors "classic white"... 

Now it's in the new dehydrator, trial run... fingers crossed ?

I'm figuring 104° for 6hrs to start....

Well, not that anyone cared anyway.  But the build is now stalled.

My kit only had one front and rear spindel and not two...so the search is on.

For an "easy" white paint job, I've used Tamiya fine white primer followed by clear, from the can!!!

I wasn't planning on white, but it looked so good, it's so fine.

Thanks, I've decided to go as far as I can and hopefully I'll come up with a solution for the missing parts.

That would certainly work! I only went for the classic white because I wanted the more "off" white look. Like it aged and yellowed just a bit.

I quite like the dark engine color.  How did you heat the chassis to straighten it?  I attempted to straighten a Foose Cadillac warped chassis with a heat gun and the results were somewhat less than satisfying.  Your Lambo is looking great.

I past it over a candle very quickly... took several passes and incremental adjustment to get it straight.

Thanks for looking I got the body out of the dehydrator last night. Will have more photos hopefully by this evening.

Oh no- I have never had this kit in-hand, so no idea what the missing spindles look like. Is it possible to scratchbuild what is missing based on the front + rear you do have?

I actually ordered a set of fujimi OZ wheels that come with brake rotors and spindles. 

Was trying to keep it box stock, but that flew out the window fast.

Now I'm working on wiring the engine...

Paint came out fairly decent... got a few spots that need buffed but serviceable. I am impressed with the new mini dehydrator!

I love how the kit includes dual coils but only has a spot for 1 wire cap instead of 2... wich is certainly an option as some cars were converted to dual coil and dual cap adjustable ignition. But it also includes no cap at all, just a nub. So I had to do the down and dirty and break out the styrene tubing.

Had to trim the top of the firewall to actually fit so the body will sit flush to the frame.

They are pretty sweet... and it's definitely going to have white wheels for sure.

I'm debating on replacing these wheels with the some others from one of my fujimi kits and use these on that kut because it's a much nicer kit to start and the older style wheel would look better in white.

Haven't made up my mind yet.

Probably the last update on this one... I've not set my photo booth up yet, so pics are still lame... 

I've got a few things left to do.. like mounting the wing, and mirrors and a few other odds and ends. It's basically finished though. Gotta put it away for another project. Thanks for looking.

Maybe the roll under was too deep for the tooling design to release from the mold that way? Just a guess.

Hadn't really thought about that, but it sounds reasonable considering it is pretty deep.
