I grew up in the Army, I was an Army Brat until I was 16 and my dad retired. Army families are a world of their own.

We moved every two or three years so it was an interesting life.  I lived in Izmir Turkey from 1966-68 and Pirmasens Germany from 1969-72.

Vic, I was in an around Gilbert at that time.

I had a CJ-5 and was all over the Valley.

US Navy 1972 - 1976  Electricians Mate Petty Officer 2nd Class (E-5)

Served aboard the USS Turner Joy DD951 stationed out of Long Beach and San Diego

Did 3 WESPAC deployments including time in combat zones in North and South Vietnam at the tail end of the war.  As is the nature of deployed combat vessels we travelled extensively in the west Pacific, Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf.

There’s a very good chance we were in the Philippines at the same time.  Though I never made it to Clark we were in and out of Subic Bay many times in that 1972-1976 time frame.
